Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleAcer has announced the Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51), a new Windows-based gaming handheld that expands the company’s Predator ecosystem into the growing handheld gaming segment. Designed for gamers seeking desktop-class performance in a portable form factor, the Predator Atlas 8 combines Intel’s latest Arc G-Series platform, a high-refresh-rate touchscreen, advanced cooling technologies, and extensive connectivity options.
The Predator Atlas 8 is powered by up to the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and can be configured with up to Intel Arc B390 graphics, bringing support for hardware ray tracing and Intel XeSS 3 AI upscaling technology. Acer says the platform is designed to deliver smoother gameplay, improved visual quality, and reduced latency across modern AAA titles and demanding workloads.
At the front, the handheld features an 8-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) IPS-level touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing additional vertical screen space compared to traditional 16:9 displays. The panel supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and 10-point multi-touch input, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Glass DXC coating offer enhanced durability and improved visibility.
To maintain sustained gaming performance, Acer has equipped the Atlas 8 with a unique cooling solution inspired by its Predator gaming laptops. The system combines the industry’s first handheld Predator AeroBlade metal fan, featuring 89 ultra-thin 0.1 mm blades, with a secondary plastic fan and Acer’s Vortex Flow airflow architecture. According to the company, the AeroBlade fan can improve airflow by up to 10 percent, helping keep temperatures under control during extended gaming sessions.
The handheld supports up to 24 GB LPDDR5X memory running at 7467 MT/s and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage, ensuring fast game loading times and responsive multitasking. Powering the device is a battery configuration of up to 80 Wh, supported by Intel Endurance Gaming technology, which dynamically balances performance and power consumption to maximize battery life.
For controls, Acer includes a full gaming-grade layout featuring ABXY buttons, D-pad, full-size analog sticks, Hall-effect triggers, adjustable trigger switches, macro buttons, dedicated Xbox Game Bar and PredatorSense buttons, along with a fingerprint-enabled power button. The dual-mode trigger system allows players to switch between micro-switch mode for competitive shooters and Hall-effect analog mode for racing and simulation games.
Audio is handled by dual 2 W speakers with DTS:X Ultra and Hi-Res Audio support, while dual microphones with Acer PurifiedVoice AI noise reduction improve communication during multiplayer sessions and voice chats.
Connectivity options include dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a UHS-II microSD card reader, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack. The device ships with Windows 11 Home and includes PredatorSense software, Xbox Game Pass Premium (2 months), and PC Game Pass (3 months).
