Ahead of Friendship Day, Airtel has launched a new campaign that allows customers to gift prepaid recharges along with a personalised digital Friendship Band through the Airtel app. The feature aims to give a modern touch to the traditional Friendship Day celebration by combining a useful prepaid recharge with a customised digital greeting.
The offer is available for Airtel Prepaid users and will remain valid until 2nd August 2026.
Gift A Recharge With A Personalised Friendship Band
Using the Airtel app, customers can recharge a friend’s Airtel prepaid number and choose from a range of themed digital Friendship Bands before sharing it.
The available Friendship Band themes include:
- Gym Buddy
- Meme Dealer
- Gedi Partner
- Foodie Friend
- Gossip Spiller
- Free Therapist
After selecting a design, users can instantly share it with their friends through WhatsApp or SMS, along with a Friendship Day greeting.
If the greeting is sent via SMS, the sender’s name can also be included to make the message more personal.
Continue The Friendship Chain
Recipients of the digital Friendship Band are also given the option to continue the campaign by gifting another Friendship Band to someone else through the campaign page.
According to Airtel, the initiative is designed to transform a regular prepaid recharge into a more engaging and memorable Friendship Day experience.
How It Works
Users can follow these steps:
- Open the Airtel app and choose the “Surprise your friend with a band” banner.
- Enter a friend’s Airtel prepaid number.
- Select and complete a prepaid recharge.
- Choose a digital Friendship Band design.
- Share it via WhatsApp or SMS with a personalised greeting.
