Worried about misplacing your smartphone frequently? Google has you covered. The company plans on launching a service that will help you track your missing device as well as wipe data remotely.

The new Android Device Manager, which Google is going to launch shortly, would consist of an app installed on your Android device and the tracking service on your browser, both of which will be controlled by your Google account. The service is expected later this month for all Android smartphones running v2.2 and higher.

Using the Android Device Manager, you can make your phone ring at its maximum volume, even if it’s on silent mode, thus helping you to locate the misplaced device. If you think your device is stolen, the app would let you track the geographical location of your device in real-time. Also you can wipe off all the data on the device remotely using the service.
