BBM 7 out of beta, brings Free voice calls over WiFi to BBM users & more

About a month back, Research in Motion announced the launch of the BBM Voice service which allows BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) users to make free calls to other BBM users over Wi-Fi.

At that time, BBM 7 which brings in the BBM Voice feature was released in the BlackBerry Beta Zone but today the messenger is out of beta testing and now available for all BlackBerry users.

Apart from the BBM Voice feature, BBM 7 packs in other new features like:
  • BBM upgrade notifications – BBM will notify you when there are updates to download straight from within the app
  • BBID Synchronization – Your BBM profile, Groups and Contacts are linked to your BlackBerry ID
  • 16 Additional emoticons – Even more choice for those times when words just aren’t enough.
