After several leaks and rumours, BlackBerry has finally officially revealed the BlackBerry Priv – the company’s first Android smartphone.

BlackBerry has announced the launch of the BlackBerry Priv, which is the company’s first Android smartphone with a slider keyboard. The device has a 5.43 inch AMOLED dual curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and super high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the hexa core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The BlackBerry Priv has an 18 MP rear facing auto focus camera with OIS, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens and dual-tone LED flash. There is also a front facing 5 MP camera. The device runs on the Android Lollipop version with a massive 3140 mAh battery. The handset is priced at $699 (approx. Rs. 45000) and is available for pre-order from today in the US, Canada and UK. The devices are expected to be shipped from November 6. Global rollout details would be revealed soon.
