Canonical unveiled the Ubuntu for Phones earlier this month and now it needs the help of the community to develop about a dozen of traditional and social apps for the platform which according to the company will be the default apps and come preinstalled on the Ubuntu Phones.
This move by Canonical is called the CoreApps Project and invites designers to visit the Wiki page of each app for that details the actual purpose of the app, lists the requirements, guideline and also link to submit the ideas.
The 12 basic apps which Canonical is seeking help from the community are:
Traditional app:
- File Manager
- Calendar
- Clock/Alarm
- Weather
- Terminal
- Calculator
- E-Mail Client
- Document Viewer
Social apps:
- YouTube
- RSS Reader
So if you are into Ubuntu and a developer who wishes to contribute to the community, then head over to the source link and read through the details and get going as you might not know but the design in your mind might end up on every single Ubuntu Phone in the near future.
