Discord has officially announced Nitro Rewards, a new benefits program designed to expand the value of its Nitro subscription service beyond platform-exclusive perks. The update introduces Xbox Game Pass integration, gaming accessory discounts, and additional in-app rewards as Discord aims to position Nitro as a broader gaming membership for players across platforms. According to the company, this marks the biggest expansion to Discord Nitro since the subscription service was first introduced nearly a decade ago.
Xbox Game Pass Now Included With Discord Nitro
As part of the new Nitro Rewards program, Discord Nitro subscribers will now receive access to a Starter Edition of Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost.
The bundled access includes:
- A library of over 50 PC and console games
- Downloadable and playable titles across supported devices
- 10 hours of cloud gaming access
Discord highlighted several games available through the offering, including:
- Fallout 4
- Stardew Valley
- DayZ
- Deep Rock Galactic
- Overcooked 2
- Grounded
The company also confirmed that additional games will continue to be added periodically.
The integration comes months after Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma previously teased Xbox Game Pass support for Discord Nitro earlier this year.
Discounts on Gaming Accessories
Nitro Rewards also introduces discounts on gaming peripherals and accessories through partnerships with major gaming brands.
Subscribers can avail:
- Up to 30% discount on Logitech G products
- 15% discount on SteelSeries accessories
- 20% discount on KontrolFreek products
Discord says these benefits are intended to strengthen Nitro’s positioning as an all-in-one gaming membership rather than just a communication platform upgrade.
Expanded Orbs Reward System
Discord is also enhancing its in-app Orbs rewards system for Nitro subscribers.
New Nitro benefits include:
- 250 Orbs every month
- Orbs multipliers for completed Quests
- Additional opportunities to unlock cosmetic upgrades and Shop items
Orbs can be redeemed inside Discord’s in-app Shop for cosmetic customizations and platform-exclusive digital items.
Discord says the long-term goal is to evolve Nitro into a “must-have membership” for gamers by combining communication tools, game access, rewards, cloud gaming, and hardware discounts under a single subscription.
Traditionally, Discord Nitro has focused on platform-specific upgrades such as:
- Profile customization
- HD streaming
- Larger file uploads
- Animated avatars and emojis
With Nitro Rewards, the company is now expanding into broader gaming ecosystem benefits aimed at everyday gamers and PC enthusiasts.
