Finally it is here! All Windows Phones 8 users can now avail turn by turn voice guided navigation as in a recent development, Microsoft and Nokia released the beta of the Nokia Drive+ app which provides turn by turn navigation on the phone.
The app, which is free to all Windows Phone 8 users in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, is still in development stage. The app developers seem to be working on the User Interface of the app.
Some of the features of the Nokia Drive+ app are:
- Full offline support for 89 countries across the world
- 2D & 3D landmarks on map helps to orient you during navigation
- 60+ different voice guidance packs available for FREE download
- Turn by turn voice guided navigation
- Offline mode for maps
- Speed limit warnings
- Day and night mode for easier usage.
The word is not yet out when the final version of the app will be released. Also currently the app only caters to the US, UK and Canada. It would be advantageous if the app comes to the Windows Phone 7 also. One plus point of the app is that it is free (at least for now). Thus this will be one app all Windows Phone 8 users should try out and you can download the app by following the widget below.
