Exclusive: Airtel introduces Ask for talktime, Gift talktime and Call-Me-Back Services

What do you when you have to make this very urgent call but your mobile balance is almost zero and there is no mobile recharge shop nearby? To get you out of such a situation, some of the telecom operators already offer prepaid balance transfer facility.

If you are an Airtel user, you will now be able to ‘Ask for talktime’. The operator silently launched this service along with other services which includes ‘Gift talktime’ and ‘Call-Me-Back’ service.

 
How to ask for for the talktime:

  1. Dial *141# from your Airtel mobile
  2. You’ll get a response with many options as above
  3. Reply with option number 3 which says Ask for Talktime
  4. You can ask for any amount of talktime between Rs. 5 to Rs. 30 from another Airtel number.
  5. Now you have to enter the 10 digit Airtel prepaid number from which you want to get the talktime. Select send and you’ll receive response that your request has been sent.
  6. Now your friend whose mobile number you had entered will receive a text requesting him/her to send you the talktime by following the Procedure to gift talktime.
  7. Your friend will be charged Re. 1 extra as service fee, and the total amount will be will be displayed to them. And that’s it. Once your friend completes the procedure you get the balance in your account.

How to gift talktime:

  1. Dial *141# from your Airtel mobile
  2. You’ll get a response with many options as above
  3. Reply with option number 1 which says Share Talktime
  4. Now you’ll be asked to enter any amount between Rs. 5 to Rs. 12 that you want to share with another Airtel number.
  5. You’ll be charged Re. 1 extra as service fee, and the total amount will be will be displayed. For example, If you want to share Rs. 5, you’ll be charged Rs. 6 from your main balance.
  6. Now you have to enter the 10 digit Airtel prepaid number to which you want to send the talktime. Select send and you’ll receive a confirmatory message from Airtel. Now the amount you requested will be credited to your friend’s mobile account.

There will also be time when you don’t have these helpful friends, so for these situations Airtel has also decided to provide users with Call-Me-Back service. Yes now you can ask your friends to call you back when you are low on balance. All you need to do is Dial *141# from your mobile, Select the Call Me Back SMS service, and enter the 10 digit Airtel number. Airtel will send a text to the mobile number informing them to call you up. There is only one condition and that is your balance should be less than Re.1 in order to avail this service.
