Fairphone has introduced the Fairphone (Gen. 6+), its latest modular and repairability-focused smartphone, while also marking the company’s first direct smartphone launch in the U.S. The new model combines a 6.31-inch 120 Hz LTPO AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, 12 GB RAM + 256 GB Storage, 50 MP Sony LYTIA LYT-700C OIS camera, removable 4,415 mAh battery, and Android 16 with software support through 2033.
The smartphone continues Fairphone’s focus on longevity and sustainability with 12 user-replaceable parts, an A repairability rating, a 10/10 iFixit repairability score, IP55 protection, MIL-STD-810H testing, a 5-year warranty, and spare parts availability through 2033.

Modular Design | 12 Replaceable Parts
The Fairphone (Gen. 6+) has been designed around repairability, allowing users to replace 12 individual components using a single screwdriver. Components including the battery, display, USB Type-C port, and back cover can be replaced in under five minutes.
The smartphone features a removable back cover secured with screws, while components such as the microphones, side buttons, and fingerprint sensor can be serviced through Fairphone’s repair centers.
Fairphone says the smartphone has earned an A repairability rating and a 10/10 iFixit score. Spare parts are planned to remain available through 2033.
For durability, the smartphone comes with an IP55 rating and has undergone MIL-STD-810H testing. Fairphone says testing includes a 1.5-meter drop test, 45 repeated drops from one meter, and more than 70,000 bend tests.

120 Hz LTPO AMOLED | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4
The Fairphone (Gen. 6+) features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,116 x 2,484 pixels, 431 PPI pixel density, and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 10 Hz to 120 Hz. The 10-bit panel supports HDR10 and reaches up to 1,400 nits of automatic brightness, while minimum brightness can drop to 2 nits. The display is protected by 0.7 mm Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The smartphone is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 octa-core SoC paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. It comes with 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.1 Storage, while a microSD card slot allows storage expansion by up to 2 TB.
Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 + LE, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. The smartphone supports a Nano-SIM alongside an eSIM.
50 MP Sony LYTIA LYT-700C OIS Camera
For photography, the Fairphone (Gen. 6+) features a 50 MP Sony LYTIA LYT-700C main camera with an f/1.88 aperture, OIS, and EIS. It is accompanied by a 13 MP OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree field of view. The front houses a 32 MP Samsung KD1 selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and EIS.
Camera features include RAW image capture, 2x in-sensor zoom, and up to 10x digital zoom. The rear camera can record up to 4K video at 30 fps, along with 1080p at 30/60 fps and slow-motion video at up to 1080p 120 fps or 720p 240 fps.
The front camera supports up to 2K video recording at 30 fps, along with 1080p and 720p recording at 30/60 fps.

Removable 4,415 mAh Battery | 30W Peak Charging
One of the notable features of the Fairphone (Gen. 6+) is its user-removable 4,415 mAh Li-ion battery. The battery supports 27W charging with up to 30W peak power, along with USB PD, PPS, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2/3/4+ protocols.
Fairphone claims the smartphone can reach 50% charge in 30 minutes, 80% in 45 minutes, and 100% in 85 minutes. The battery is rated for more than 1,000 charging cycles while retaining at least 80% of its original capacity.
The company rates the phone for up to 19 hours and 38 minutes of talk time, 17 hours and 59 minutes of web browsing, 14 hours and 57 minutes of video playback, and up to 521 hours of standby time.

Android 16 | Software Support Through 2033
The Fairphone (Gen. 6+) runs Android 16 and is promised 6 major Android OS updates, with software support extending through 2033.
Fairphone keeps additional preinstalled software limited to Google’s suite and its own apps. The Fairphone Gallery provides local photo and video management, while Fairphone Moments offers a switchable minimalist interface designed to reduce distractions.
Sustainability & Materials
Fairphone says 51% of the smartphone’s materials by weight are fair or recycled, spanning 15 materials. These include recycled aluminum, copper, steel, indium, magnesium, nickel, plastics, rare-earth elements, tin, and zinc, alongside Fairmined tungsten and gold.
The company estimates the device’s carbon footprint at approximately 29.3 kg CO₂e, excluding the SD card, and says the smartphone is 100% e-waste neutral. Its plastic-free packaging uses 52.8% recycled paper. Fairphone also continues its work around responsible cobalt sourcing through initiatives including the Fair Cobalt Alliance and Fair Cobalt Credits.
Fairbuds 2 Coming in Q4
Alongside the smartphone, Fairphone has teased the Fairbuds 2, its next-generation modular wireless earbuds. The earbuds are scheduled to arrive in Q4 2026, with Fairphone planning to share further details in October 2026. The company says the new model is being developed with a focus on repairability and performance.
