Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on Google
Google has officially released a dedicated Gemini application for Windows, bringing its AI assistant directly to desktop environments running Windows 10 and Windows 11. The dedicated app follows the launch of the Gemini desktop application for macOS earlier this year.
The native Windows application is designed to provide quick access to Gemini without requiring users to open a web browser, while also offering features for everyday tasks, research, and media generation.

Quick Access & Integrated Workspace
The Gemini Windows app can be accessed through a Quick-Access Overlay by pressing Alt + Space. The overlay appears on top of active applications, allowing users to ask questions, fact-check documents, draft responses, or generate presentation ideas before returning to their primary workspace.
For more complex tasks, the full Gemini application provides an Integrated Workspace. Users can delegate multi-step workflows to Gemini Spark and connect Google Workspace services such as Gmail and Google Drive to extract context and create summaries from stored files.
AI-Powered Image & Video Generation
The desktop application also includes native multimedia generation capabilities. Users can generate custom visuals through Nano Banana and create video assets using Gemini Omni, all from the same desktop interface.
Performance & Availability
Google says the application has been engineered to remain lightweight and minimize system resource consumption while running in the background.
The Gemini desktop app for Windows is available globally starting today for computers running Windows 10 and Windows 11. Users can download the installer from gemini.google/desktop. Google also plans to add further native desktop integrations through future updates.
