Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleGoogle has started rolling out version 5.11 of the Google Health app for Android and iOS, introducing updates to health monitoring, automatic activity tracking, glucose tracking, and sleep tracking. The update adds blood pressure and insulin resistance trends for eligible Fitbit Air users, expands automatic workout detection, and introduces custom glucose time-in-range goals.

Google Health Adds Health Guardian Features For Fitbit Air
Google Health app version 5.11 introduces blood pressure and insulin resistance trends for Fitbit Air users with a Google Health Premium membership. Users can set up the features in the app and receive their first monthly health summary at the beginning of November 2026. The corresponding metrics and trends will appear in the Health tab after the report becomes available.
The blood pressure trends feature tracks patterns that could put strain on the heart. It appears in the Health Guardian section of the Health tab for users who wear Fitbit Air for at least five consecutive days in October.
The insulin resistance trends feature tracks monthly changes in metabolic health. Users must wear the device for at least seven days and nights in October for the feature to become available.
Google notes that these metrics are intended for general wellness and are not diagnostic tools.
Automatic Activity Tracking Gets More Accurate
The update improves automatic activity tracking on Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Watch 5. The system can now detect between 10 and up to 100 activities, including strength training, swimming, racket sports, and team sports.
The updated detection system uses contextual information, including workout routines, historical data, and manually edited activities, to identify workouts and improve future predictions.
Workouts that meet the minimum duration threshold, set to 15 minutes by default, and involve a sustained elevated heart rate are logged automatically. A workout summary typically appears in the Google Health app within 30 minutes.
Users can also confirm or edit detected activities to help the system learn their individual activity patterns.
According to Google, the updated model delivers nearly twice as accurate activity detections and reduces missed workouts by more than half. These results are based on offline evaluations comparing the updated model with the previous version across manually tracked workouts on the device.
Google Health Adds More Glucose Tracking Options
Google has renamed the “Blood glucose” section to “Glucose” throughout the app and added custom time-in-range goals for glucose data from connected continuous glucose monitors (CGMs).
Users can configure a custom goal by opening the Health tab > Metabolic > Glucose > Settings > Set goal.
The update also introduces integration with Abbott’s Lingo app for users in the US. Users can connect the app through Profile > Partner Apps. After the Lingo biosensor’s initial 24-hour warm-up period, glucose readings appear in Google Health within 30 minutes of a reading.
Google Health Premium members can also ask Google Health Coach questions about glucose trends from Lingo data. The integration is available to users aged 18 and older and requires a separately sold Lingo biosensor and the Lingo app.
Sleep Tracking Improvements
Google Health 5.11 improves sleep tracking by using step data to identify short awakenings, including getting up to use the bathroom.
The update also makes nap management easier. Users can remove a nap directly from its card when the recorded nap does not match their day.
Availability & Supported Devices
Google Health app version 5.11 is rolling out for Android and iOS, with availability expanding over the following week depending on the carrier and device.
Health Guardian features are available to eligible Fitbit Air users with a Google Health Premium membership, subject to regional availability and the required October wearing periods. Support for Health Guardian and automatic activity tracking on Fitbit Edge will begin when the device becomes available on 27th October 2026.
Automatic activity tracking is available on Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Watch 5. Health Coach requires a Google Health Premium subscription, the Google Health app, and an internet connection.
Google says that blood pressure and insulin resistance trends, Sleep Breathing Quality, and high- or low-heart-rate alerts are intended for general wellness. They are not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical conditions. The metrics are not screening tools for diabetes, hypertension, or sleep apnea, do not provide real-time clinical readings, and should not be used to adjust medication or treatment plans.
These features are not intended for pregnant individuals or as a substitute for professional medical advice. Google also notes that Gemini features operate independently of Gemini apps, and their responses should be checked for accuracy rather than treated as medical advice.
