Google Photos rolls out Video Remix for AI-powered video transformations

Google has introduced Video Remix in Google Photos, a new AI-powered editing feature that allows users to transform videos using creative visual effects. The feature expands Google Photos’ growing suite of AI editing tools and lets users apply stylized looks, lighting changes, and background effects directly within the app.

Video Remix enables users to generate stylized versions of their videos using artificial intelligence. The feature can automatically apply a variety of visual effects, including:

  • Background replacement
  • AI relighting
  • Artistic video stylization

According to Google, Video Remix is designed to help users create more creative and visually appealing video clips without requiring advanced editing skills.

Expanding Google Photos’ AI Editing Tools

The launch of Video Remix follows several recent AI additions to Google Photos.

Google recently introduced AI-powered photo editing tools that can:

  • Remove blemishes
  • Refine skin texture
  • Brighten eyes
  • Whiten teeth

The company has also added an AI-powered wardrobe feature that creates a digital closet using users’ clothing photos and generates outfit suggestions with virtual try-on capabilities.

How to Use Video Remix

Video Remix is available through the Create tab in Google Photos.

To access the feature, users need to:

  • Update the Google Photos app on Android, iPhone, or iPad
  • Open the Create section within the app
  • Select Video Remix to begin applying AI-powered effects

Availability

Video Remix is rolling out to Google AI Plus, Google AI Pro, and Google AI Ultra subscribers in select countries, including India, the United States, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea, and Turkey.
