Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleGoogle has announced new personalization features across Google Search, Discover, and Google News, giving users more control over the content they see and publishers a new way to let readers prioritize their websites. Preferred Sources For Publishers

Google is introducing an interactive Preferred Sources button that publishers can add to their websites.

When a reader taps the button, the website is added to their Preferred Sources on Google, while the user is immediately returned to the page they were viewing.

Content from selected Preferred Sources can then appear in:

  • Top Stories
  • AI Overviews
  • AI Mode

Google says users have already selected more than 600,000 unique sources. Publishers can access the code required to add the Preferred Sources button through Google Search Central documentation.

Customize Google Discover Feed

Google is also giving users more direct control over their Discover feed.

Starting in the coming days, users will be able to tap the three-dot menu on a Discover item and tell Google, using their own words, what they want to see more or less of.

Users can specify:

  • Topics they want to see more of
  • Topics they want to see less of
  • Links they want to see more of
  • Links they want to see less of

Google will use these preferences to adjust the Discover feed and remember the requests, allowing the feed to become more closely aligned with individual interests.

Personalized Audio News Briefings

Google News on Android is also getting more customization for its daily audio news briefings.

Users will be able to select specific topics they want included in their briefings. The personalized briefings will provide:

  • Clear source attribution
  • Links to full articles
  • Deeper coverage of important stories from publishers participating in Google’s news AI pilot programme

This gives users more control over the subjects covered in their daily audio news updates.

Availability

The new Discover customization feature will roll out in the Google app in the coming days.

The Preferred Sources button is available for publishers through Google Search Central, while personalized audio news briefings are available in the Google News app on Android.
