Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleGoogle has announced new AI-powered features for Google Vids, introducing Gemini Omni for video generation and conversational editing alongside personal avatars that can deliver scripted messages using a user’s appearance and voice.

The company said millions of videos have been created using Google Vids over the past year. The latest additions expand its AI video creation capabilities following the rollout of Veo 3.1 to users earlier this year.

Google Vids, Gemini-Omni

Gemini Omni Enables AI Video Generation From Text & Images

Gemini Omni allows users to generate video clips by describing what they want through natural language prompts. Users can also provide reference images, including photographs and rough sketches, to give the AI additional visual context.

The model combines the provided text instructions and image references to generate video clips based on the requested scene and visual direction.

Beyond initial generation, users can refine their videos through conversational editing. Instead of recreating an entire clip when changes are needed, users can describe individual modifications and continue refining the existing video step by step.

Gemini Omni can be used for tasks including replacing video backgrounds, improving lighting, adding visual effects, refining AI-generated clips, and editing footage recorded using a smartphone.

Google Vids Adds Personal Avatars

Google Vids is also introducing personal avatars, allowing users to create a digital version of themselves for video presentations and messages without recording each video manually.

To create a personal avatar, users need to provide a selfie and a short voice recording. Once the avatar is set up, they can type a script, and the avatar can deliver the message using their appearance and voice.

The personal avatar is linked to the user’s Google Account and can only represent the account holder’s likeness. The feature is limited to eligible users aged 18 and above in supported regions.

AI-Generated Videos Include SynthID

Google said video clips generated using its AI features include an invisible SynthID digital watermark. This provides a way to identify and verify content that has been generated using Google’s AI tools.

Availability

Gemini Omni and personal avatars are available in Google Vids for Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers, as well as eligible Google Workspace business customers. Personal avatars are currently limited to supported regions and eligible users.
