Google wants you to pay for apps only via Google Wallet

News is coming in that Google has asked app and mobile game developers to use Google Wallet rather than other payment methods. Google in the past has even gone to the extent of telling developers that if they continued to use other payment methods such as PayPal, Zong and Boku, their apps would be removed from Google Play.

Google-Play

Google has been enforcing the developers so as to make a simplified payment system that the consumer can understand and is comfortable with. Google’s payment service charges a higher cut per transaction than some rivals’ but this goes on to prove that Google is using its powerful position in the mobile apps market to promote an in-house offering.

It seems like this is the next crucial step that Google is taking after rebranding the Android Market to Google Play. Off course this move will ensure that consumers get everything and check-out from the same place rather than being re-directed to another payment method.
