Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleGoogle has introduced Googlebook, a new category of premium laptops built on the Android technology stack and paired with desktop foundations from ChromeOS. The platform is designed around Gemini Intelligence and offers deeper integration with Android smartphones, native Android apps, desktop Chrome and Linux development tools.
The first Googlebook lineup includes laptops from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, with prices starting at $899 in the US. The devices feature premium materials, touchscreen displays, dedicated NPUs and up to 14 hours of claimed battery life, depending on the model.
Five Googlebook Laptops Announced
The initial lineup consists of five models:
- Acer Googlebook 14 – starts at $899
- ASUS Googlebook 14 – starts at $1,299
- Dell XPS Googlebook – starts at $999
- HP Googlebook 14 – starts at $1,299
- Lenovo Googlebook 15 – starts at $1,099
All five models come with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage in their listed configurations, along with backlit keyboards and Google Titan security hardware. The HP and Lenovo models additionally support face unlock. Googlebook models use materials including aluminum, magnesium alloy and carbon fiber. Google says the laptops feature haptic glass trackpads, touchscreens and up to 2.8K OLED displays.
Googlebook Display & Hardware Specifications
The lineup includes displays ranging from a 13.4-inch 2.5K LCD on the Dell XPS Googlebook to a 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen on the Lenovo Googlebook.
The Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo models feature OLED panels, with ASUS offering a 14-inch 3K OLED display in some regional configurations. The official comparison also lists battery-life claims of up to 16 hours for Acer and ASUS, 18 hours for Dell, 19 hours for HP and 13 hours for Lenovo under controlled web-browsing tests.
Processing hardware comes from both Intel and Qualcomm. The Acer, ASUS and Lenovo models use Intel Core Ultra processors, while the Dell XPS Googlebook and HP Googlebook 14 use the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite platform. The integrated NPUs offer up to 45 TOPS or more depending on the model.

Glowbar Design
Googlebook laptops feature an exterior Glowbar that provides visual feedback. It lights up during startup, can indicate the battery charge level and displays animations when users interact with Gemini. Google has brought the feature across the initial hardware lineup as part of the visual identity of Googlebook.
Android Phone Integration
One of the main features of Googlebook is its shared Android foundation, allowing the laptop to work closely with an Android smartphone.
During setup, users can transfer supported phone settings, saved passwords, Wi-Fi networks and messages to the Googlebook. Google says transferred data is protected with end-to-end encryption.
The platform includes several cross-device features:
- Continue On: Continue supported activities started on an Android phone from the Googlebook
- Files: Access and search files and photos stored on the connected Android phone
- Cast My Apps: Stream and interact with supported phone applications in a desktop window
This allows users to move between their phone and laptop without having to manually recreate the workflow on another device.
Gemini Intelligence & AI Features
Gemini is integrated directly into the Googlebook experience through a set of new features.
Magic Pointer activates Gemini when users wiggle the cursor over content on the screen. It can analyze the visible content and assist with tasks such as organizing calendars, translating text, analyzing emails or working with multiple images.
For example, users can select a training plan and ask Gemini to organize the schedule in Google Calendar, or highlight an email and ask Gemini to analyze its text and images.
Another feature is Rambler, a voice-dictation tool located next to the Quick Insert key. It can turn spoken notes and streams of thought into organized writing, remove filler words and mistakes, create structured lists and headings, and switch between languages within a sentence.
Googlebook also introduces Create My Widget, which lets users describe a desktop widget in natural language without coding. The generated widgets can provide information such as sports scores or countdowns.
Chrome, Android Apps & Gaming
Googlebook combines the desktop Chrome browser and its extensions with access to Android applications through Google Play.
The platform supports Android applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and CapCut, along with streaming services including Netflix and HBO Max. Googlebook also supports thousands of Android games and AAA gaming through GeForce NOW.
Developer Tools & Linux Environment
Googlebook is also designed for developers. Google’s Antigravity AI development platform comes with the devices and can be used to build, test and deploy applications.
The developer environment includes a full terminal, support for Claude Code and Antigravity CLI, and tools for agentic coding.
Googlebook also provides an isolated Linux environment powered by a security-certified pKVM hypervisor. This allows users to run Linux development tools, pull code repositories and execute autonomous agents while keeping the environment isolated from the main system.
Security Features
Googlebook uses a security architecture based on ChromeOS, including a Google Titan hardware root of trust, defense-in-depth security and on-device malware detection.
The platform also uses a Level 5 security-certified pKVM hypervisor, which Google describes as a first for the laptop category.
Fingerprint readers are available across the lineup, while HP and Lenovo additionally support face unlock.
Software Updates & Gemini Subscription
Google says Googlebook OS will receive regular feature drops and updates for up to 10 years.
Every Googlebook purchase also includes 12 months of Google AI Pro, with 5 TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini Advanced tools. The package additionally includes three months of YouTube Premium and Adobe Photoshop, among other benefits.
Gemini can also continue processing complex requests through Gemini Spark, allowing supported tasks to continue in the background after the laptop is closed.
