Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleHuman Mobile Devices (HMD) has announced the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition, a feature phone designed for older adults with an integrated AI companion called Mary. Developed in collaboration with inTouch, the device combines a traditional flip-phone design with an AI assistant for conversations, storytelling, and cognitive engagement.
The partnership between HMD and inTouch was established in March 2026. Instead of requiring users to download an app or complete a complex setup, the inTouch AI assistant is integrated directly into the phone’s interface.
Mary AI Companion Features
Mary is designed to support conversations with older users through simplified language, a measured speaking pace, and extended conversational pauses. The assistant can discuss general-interest topics such as nature and history, narrate stories, and host memory games.
It can also retain details from previous conversations to personalize future interactions.
Users can access Mary from the phone’s main menu by selecting the assistant and pressing the call button. The service is available 24/7 and does not require separate logins or passwords after the initial activation.
AI Companion Subscription & Pricing
The HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition includes an initial five hours of conversation time with Mary. Continued access requires a subscription priced at £19.90 per month, excluding any applicable standard carrier charges.
The subscription does not renew automatically. If the subscription expires or a user chooses not to continue, the phone’s core calling and telephony features remain functional.
The Senior Edition retains the core hardware platform of the standard HMD 2660 Flip. It features a clamshell design with two displays, a physical keypad, and the S30+ operating system.
