How to add Bold, Italics and Strike-through texts on WhatsApp [Beginner’s Guide]

To add Bold, Italics and Strike-through texts on WhatsApp, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Update WhatsApp to the latest version. Head over to www.whatsapp.com/download and install the latest version of WhatsApp. For Android, instead of installing from the Google Play Store, you can also install the APK manually like I did.

Step 2: Open any contact on WhatsApp and type the following:

  • Bold: Add an asterisk mark * at the start and at the end of the text. If you are adding paragraphs, then you have to add asterisks on each line of the paragraphs to make it bold.

For instance: type *Bold Text*

  • Italics: Add an underscore _ at the start and at the end of the text. The same thing follows here, while adding paragraphs, use _ at each line of the paragraphs to make it italic.

For instance: type _Italic Text_

  • Italics: Add a tilde  ~ at the starting and ending of the line. For paragraphs, each line needs a tilde instead of the whole paragraph. Here’s an example:

For instance: type ~Strike-through Text~
