Right after Airtel announced free roaming services to its customers in India, Idea quickly followed and announced its own roaming packs which offer roaming calling rates at par with Home calling rates.
Idea Cellular has launched two new roaming vouchers for its subscribers which would offer free roaming within India besides roaming calling rates which are almost the same as the home circle rates. The new vouchers are priced between Rs. 230 – 240 and Rs. 35 – 40 depending on the circle and have a validity period of six months from the date of recharge.
The roaming voucher priced between Rs. 35 – 40 would offer same rates as the home circle rates for Local, STD, ISD calling, and SMS, however incoming calls would be charged at 75 paise per minute. The Rs. 230 – 240 vouchers provides completely free roaming, with free incoming calls besides charges for Local, STD, ISD calling, and SMS being same as the home circle rates.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said, “Indians are travelling across the country like never before, for work or leisure. Idea’s pan-India network will now allow over 123 million Idea users to roam freely across the country, without worrying about additional roaming charges.”
