Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleInstagram’s Edits app has received a new Carousel Editor, allowing creators to combine photos, videos, and text across multiple slides on a single canvas. The update brings several existing Edits creative tools to carousel projects, along with new controls designed specifically for creating multi-slide posts. The new editor allows creators to arrange media across slides, apply layouts and cutout effects, and create compositions where photos or headlines can continue from one slide into the next.

Edits Carousel Editor | Photos, Videos & Text | Layouts & Cutouts
The new Carousel Editor lets users add photos, videos, and text to a project and arrange them across multiple slides. Creators can use preset layouts to combine multiple photos, while the cutout tool can be used to turn subjects into stickers.
Edits also allows elements to extend across slides. For example, a photo can continue from one slide into the next, while a headline can span multiple slides, making the swipe between slides part of the overall design.
Existing editing controls such as color grading, scaling, and rotation are also available, allowing creators to precisely position and adjust individual elements on the canvas.
Saved Fonts, Styles & Presets
The Carousel Editor also carries over the user’s saved settings from the Edits app. Saved fonts, styles, and colors can be accessed across different projects and formats.
Creators can also use saved presets for adjustments, colors, audio, and text styles, while the carousel editor retains the familiar Edits interface.

Directly Share Carousels to Instagram
Once a carousel is finished, users can share it directly to Instagram from Edits. The finished carousel can also be downloaded and posted on other platforms.
This removes the need to export the project and then re-upload it to Instagram, while also helping maintain the original quality during the publishing process.

How to Create a Carousel in Edits
Users can create a carousel by following these steps:
- Open Edits and go to the Projects tab.
- Tap (+) and select Carousel.
- Choose one or more photos and videos.
- Arrange the media across the canvas.
- Edit the project using tools such as audio, text, filters, adjustments, and cutouts.
- Share the completed carousel directly to Instagram.
Creators can also manage individual slides while editing. Tapping the “+” button adds a blank slide, while pulling from the right edge of the carousel can add another slide.
The “…” menu on a slide provides options to duplicate the slide, insert a new slide to the left or right, or reorder slides. The layout tool can also be used to arrange multiple photos using preset layouts, with controls for adjusting padding and spacing.
Edits Carousel Editor Availability
The new Carousel Editor is currently available on iOS, while support for Android is coming soon. Instagram says the Edits team will continue developing the editor as carousel formats evolve, with creator feedback helping shape future updates.
