Making train reservations easier, IRCTC has announced the launch of its app for the Windows platform.
IRCTC launched a new train reservation app exclusively for Windows devices and is available on both Windows Phone 8 runs smartphones and tablets as well as the Windows 8 PC. The app integrates with the Windows Azure for app intermediary services like showing destination names etc.
The IRCTC app for Windows devices can be used to make enquires about the trains and book the seat. The app can also be used for checking PNR status and for viewing the booking/cancellation history. The app can apparently be used to plan the entire travel. The app can be downloaded for free from the Windows Store.
Speaking about the new Windows app, Mr. Rakesh Tandon, CMD, IRCTC said, “We feel the app is ideal for the modern consumer who is always on the move. Windows is the most trusted and widely used platform and offers the requisite security required while handling vast amounts of personal and financial user data.”
