MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 7500, its latest upper mid-range smartphone chipset and the successor to the Dimensity 7400. Built on an advanced 4nm process, the new platform introduces Arm’s latest C1 CPU architecture for the first time and brings a dedicated generative AI engine, enhanced imaging capabilities, faster connectivity, and improved power efficiency for next-generation mainstream smartphones.

The Dimensity 7500 adopts an octa-core Armv9.3-A CPU architecture featuring four high-performance Arm C1 Pro cores clocked at up to 2.6 GHz and four power-efficient Arm C1 Nano cores running at up to 2.0 GHz. According to MediaTek, the new architecture delivers improved efficiency across daily tasks, reducing power consumption by 5% to 9% in common applications and by 4% to 7% during gaming workloads.
Performance improvements extend beyond raw processing power. MediaTek claims the chipset delivers up to 68% faster video transcoding, 40% faster file transfers, 30% quicker app switching, 19% faster game loading times, and up to 11% faster application installation and cold launches compared to its predecessor.
A major highlight of the platform is the new MediaTek NPU 850, which delivers more than twice the AI processing performance of the previous generation. The dedicated AI hardware enables on-device generative AI capabilities, including speech recognition, speech-to-text and text-to-speech processing, context-aware smart replies, and automated notification summarization without relying heavily on cloud computing.
For graphics, the chipset integrates the ARM Mali-G625 MC2 GPU and supports LPDDR5 memory running at up to 6,400 Mbps along with dual-lane UFS 3.1 storage. The platform also expands display support to resolutions up to 1,344 x 2,800 pixels at 144 Hz refresh rates, while secondary displays can operate at up to 1,300 x 1,200 resolution and 120 Hz refresh rates for foldable and dual-screen devices.
The imaging subsystem is powered by the MediaTek Imagiq 1050 ISP, supporting camera sensors up to 200 MP with 14-bit Dual Conversion Gain technology for improved low-light performance and color reproduction. The ISP also incorporates hardware-based Motion Compensated Noise Reduction and Face Detection engines while supporting 4K HDR video recording at 30 fps in 10-bit color. Playback support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG formats.
Connectivity receives a significant upgrade through a 3GPP Release 17-compliant 5G modem capable of peak download speeds up to 5.2 Gbps. The modem supports 3CC Carrier Aggregation with up to 220 MHz bandwidth, delivering wider network coverage and higher throughput. MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave 3.0+ technology is designed to improve power efficiency by up to 20% in typical sub-6 GHz networks.
Additional connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, High Speed Rail 2.0 optimizations, faster network recovery in subway and underground environments, Hybrid Coexistence technology for minimizing wireless interference, and long-range Bluetooth communication capable of device-to-device connectivity over distances up to 1 km under line-of-sight conditions.
MediaTek says smartphones powered by the Dimensity 7500 are expected to arrive in global markets in the coming months.
