Moto Z with 5.5 inch Quad HD display and Moto Mods launched in India for Rs. 39999

Months after launching the Moto Z with the unique Moto Mods modular accessories, Motorola has now launched the flagship smartphone in India.


Lenovo-owned Motorola has announced the launch of the Moto Z, which is the company’s new flagship range boasting of modular accessories called Moto Mods. The device has a 5.2 mm thin full metal body which is said to be water-repellent. There is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the square Home button and USB Type-C port for headphones and charging.

The Moto Z has a 5.5 inch AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and super high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the 2.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

The Moto Z has a 13 MP rear facing laser auto focus camera with 1.12um pixel, f/1.8 aperture, OIS and dual-tone LED flash. There is also a front facing 5 MP camera. The device runs on the Android Marshmallow version with a 2600 mAh battery with Turbo charging. The handset is priced at Rs. 39999 and would be available exclusively on from October 17.


The Moto Z boasts of the Moto Mods modular accessories which can be attached to the 12 ‘magical-pins’ located at the bottom back of the smartphone. The accessories include Moto Insta-Share Projector, JBL SoundBoost, Moto Shells, and instant Power Pack. The swappable Moto Style Shells use premium materials like real wood, leather or patterned fabric.

The JBL SoundBoost speaker is priced at Rs. 6999 but would be available for Rs. 5999 if purchased along with the handset. The Hasselblad True Zoom Camera is priced at Rs. 19999 and can be purchased for Rs. 14999 with the bundle. The Instashare Projector is priced at Rs. 19999 and would be offered for Rs. 15999 with the bundle. The Incipio offGRIDtm Power Pack is priced at Rs. 5999 and would be available for Rs. 4999. The swappable style shells are priced at Rs. 1099 for the Wood and ballistic nylon shells and Rs. 1599 for the Leather shells. However, they would be available for Rs. 899 and Rs. 1299 respectively
