Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleOnePlus has directly responded to recent speculation surrounding its operations in India, making it clear that the company is not shutting down in the country. The brand addressed the reports with a light-hearted social media campaign while reiterating that India remains a key market with continued investment planned across products, services, and customer experience.

In posts shared on X and Instagram, OnePlus India wrote, “Chapter one: We didn’t shut. Chapter two: See chapter one.” The accompanying image shows a silhouetted OnePlus executive preparing for a supposed documentary explaining how the company is “not shutting down.”

On LinkedIn, the company added, “A sign of what’s ahead,” while stating that India remains a key market for OnePlus and directing users to a detailed update from Ford, Vice President of OnePlus.

OnePlus says India operations are continuing

The social media campaign follows recent discussions and reports questioning the future of OnePlus in India. In a separate statement addressing the OnePlus India Community, Ford said that the company’s commitment to its Indian users, partners, and community remains unchanged.

According to OnePlus, it continues to invest in products, services, and customer experiences in India. The company pointed to four products introduced over the past few months, the response to its new N Series, and its performance during Amazon Prime Day as indicators of its continuing business activity in the country.

The company also has more products planned for the Indian market. OnePlus confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus N6x will further expand its portfolio, which currently covers multiple price segments.

More than 600 service centres through OPPO network

OnePlus is also expanding its after-sales presence in India through its integration with OPPO’s service infrastructure.

According to the company, OnePlus customers now have access to more than 600 service centres across India, providing a broader network for device repairs and after-sales assistance.

OnePlus has reassured existing customers that product support, software updates, warranty coverage, and after-sales services will continue as usual.

Eligible OnePlus Devices Can Voluntarily Move to ColorOS 17

The company also reiterated its upcoming software strategy. Following the official release of ColorOS 17, eligible existing OnePlus devices globally will have the option to voluntarily migrate from OxygenOS to the latest ColorOS platform.

OnePlus says the move toward a shared software architecture with OPPO will allow the companies to streamline software development, accelerate updates, improve software quality, and better utilize their shared engineering and R&D resources.

The ColorOS migration will remain optional for eligible users rather than being an immediate mandatory replacement for OxygenOS.

OnePlus’ India Strategy Differs from Europe & North America

The clarification is particularly significant following OnePlus’ decision to conclude new product rollouts in Europe and North America as part of a broader global strategy adjustment.

India, however, is taking a different path. OnePlus has explicitly identified the country as one of its most important markets and says it will continue investing in new devices, services, customer support, and its wider ecosystem.

With its latest social media response – “We didn’t shut” – OnePlus is attempting to put the India exit speculation to rest while signalling that more announcements are ahead for the market.
