OPPO India has announced a strategic partnership with Instagram to launch the OPPO LUMO Creator Program, a new initiative aimed at supporting and amplifying visual storytellers across India. The program combines OPPO’s imaging expertise through its proprietary LUMO Image Engine with Instagram’s vast content distribution ecosystem to help creators improve content quality, gain visibility, and access new growth opportunities.

The initiative is specifically designed to empower grassroots creators, regional storytellers, micro-influencers, and emerging digital talent by providing a structured platform for content creation, education, and recognition.

A key highlight of the collaboration is a new software-level optimization developed for OPPO’s flagship Find X Series smartphones. Through this integration, creators will be able to upload videos to Instagram with near-lossless quality, significantly reducing the compression that typically occurs during uploads. According to OPPO, this helps preserve original image clarity, color accuracy, dynamic range, and overall visual quality, ensuring content appears closer to its original capture.

The OPPO LUMO Creator Program officially began on 29th May 2026, and will operate as an ongoing initiative featuring monthly challenges focused on themes such as youth culture, everyday life, and regional stories from across India. Participants can submit their content on Instagram using designated campaign hashtags, with entries evaluated by an expert jury based on creativity, originality, cultural relevance, and audience engagement.

Beyond competitions, the program also provides access to educational resources through specialized masterclasses, mentorship sessions, and creator-focused learning opportunities. Winners will receive an official Meta x OPPO certification, while selected creators will gain international visibility through a global showcase featuring top-performing entries.

Participants will compete across Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories, with rewards including cash prizes, the latest OPPO smartphones, and products from OPPO’s IoT ecosystem.

To further strengthen the initiative, OPPO is launching a dedicated creator-focused vodcast series that will feature discussions around content creation, emerging digital trends, audience growth strategies, and industry insights. The panel includes notable figures from technology, media, and entertainment, including Ankit Rihal (Meta), Simon Liu (OPPO), Vikram Channa (Warner Bros. Discovery), celebrity photographer Joseph Radhik, travel creator Tanya Khanijow, and comedian Kenny Sebastian.

The company says the program reflects its broader vision of democratizing creative opportunities and helping more Indian creators build sustainable careers through technology and community support.
