Portronics has launched the Portronics Kinetics 8K, a compact Mini UPS Power Bank designed to keep Wi-Fi routers, modems, ONT devices, and compatible security cameras running during power outages. Targeted at home users, remote workers, students, and small office environments, the device aims to ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity when mains power is unavailable.
The Portronics Kinetics 8K features a compact and lightweight design finished in a crème-ivory color scheme, allowing it to blend into modern home and office setups. The minimalist form factor occupies very little desk space, while built-in ventilation helps dissipate heat during extended usage.
At its core, the Kinetics 8K packs an 8,000 mAh battery, which Portronics claims can provide up to 5 hours of backup power, depending on the connected device and power consumption. The Mini UPS is primarily designed for 12V DC Wi-Fi routers, making it suitable for work-from-home users, online classes, video streaming, smart home devices, and security monitoring systems.
To support a variety of devices, the Kinetics 8K offers multiple output options, including 5V/2.1A, 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A DC outputs, alongside USB-A and USB Type-C ports. This allows users to power broadband routers, fiber ONT units, compatible CCTV cameras, and other low-power electronic devices through a single backup unit.
Portronics has also focused on ease of use, with a plug-and-play setup that requires no technical configuration. Users can simply connect the Mini UPS between their router and power source to enable automatic backup during power interruptions.
