Originally introduced in 2018 for Jio’s first 100 million customers, the programme could return with a focus on tariff price protection and additional subscriber benefits.
The reported relaunch comes shortly after Airtel withdrew several mid-range prepaid plans, including its ₹299 plan. Jio’s new Prime programme is expected to offer existing subscribers a one-year price guarantee, ensuring that their tariff or plan remains unchanged during the membership period.

Jio Prime Membership | 1-Year Price Guarantee
Jio Prime is reportedly being reintroduced for the company’s customer base of more than 500 million users. The membership is expected to provide subscribers with assurance against tariff changes for one year, along with additional benefits.
According to the report, Jio Prime was originally created as a loyalty programme for the company’s first 100 million customers. The relaunched programme is now expected to extend similar benefits to Jio’s broader customer base.
Jio ₹299 Plan Could Get Additional Benefits
Alongside the Prime membership, Jio is reportedly planning to enhance its ₹299 prepaid plan, which currently offers 1.5 GB data per day.
The plan could receive the following additional benefits:
- JioHotstar subscription
- 5 TB Google Cloud storage
- Google Gemini Pro access
The additional benefits could make the ₹299 plan more competitive, particularly as telecom operators continue to restructure their prepaid offerings.
Jio Prime Joining Fee & Availability
According to the report, the Jio Prime membership could be available to existing prepaid and postpaid customers for a joining fee of ₹300.
Customers currently using other telecom operators may also be able to enrol by porting their number to Jio or activating a new Jio connection.
However, Reliance Jio has not officially confirmed the return of Prime membership or the revised benefits for the ₹299 plan. The final pricing, benefits, eligibility criteria, and launch date are therefore yet to be announced.
