Just after Reliance Jio announced the extension of its free data and voice services under the Jio Happy New Year Offer, TRAI has revealed that the offer would be thoroughly examined by it.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has stated that it would examine the Jio Happy New Year Offer which provides free data and voice services for Jio subscribers till March 2017. The telecom regulator had earlier allowed the operator to offer the free services till December 3, before which the company extended the offer until March 2017.
After achieving over 50 million subscribers on the Jio 4G network, Mukesh Ambani had announced the Jio Happy New Year Offer which was an extension of the Jio Welcome Offer which provided free unlimited data and voice calls. However, the company has imposed a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit of 1 GB data per day.
