Samsung has announced a major update to Samsung Health, introducing a new suite of AI-powered wellness features that will debut on its upcoming Galaxy Watch lineup. Designed to move beyond passive health tracking, the update transforms the Galaxy Watch into a proactive health companion capable of delivering personalized guidance based on users’ daily habits, sleep patterns, activity levels, and biometric signals.

The new Samsung Health experience leverages AI-driven analysis to simplify complex health data and present actionable insights that help users better understand their physical and mental well-being. Samsung says the update represents a significant step toward its vision of a fully connected AI-powered health ecosystem.

One of the biggest additions is Vitals, a new feature that evaluates five key overnight biometric indicators, including heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels. Rather than overwhelming users with constant notifications, Vitals compares these measurements against an individual’s baseline and alerts them only when meaningful changes are detected, helping users identify potential illness, fatigue, or recovery needs.

Samsung is also introducing Heart Health Score, which expands upon the company’s earlier Vascular Load feature. The new metric combines sleep quality, stress levels, activity patterns, and body composition data into a single daily score that provides a clearer understanding of long-term cardiovascular wellness.

For fitness-focused users, the new Daily Cardio Load feature measures accumulated cardiovascular strain throughout the day and recommends appropriate training intensity and recovery periods. Samsung says the feature is designed to help users improve fitness performance while minimizing the risk of overtraining and injury.

The update also brings a new Fitness Index, which evaluates metrics such as heart rate, VO2 Max, and daily step counts against similar users. Based on the analysis, Samsung Health delivers personalized goals and recommendations to help users improve their overall fitness more effectively.

To support these new capabilities, Samsung Health has been redesigned with a simplified interface organized around five key wellness pillars:

  • Sleep
  • Activity
  • Nutrition
  • Mindfulness
  • Vitals

The refreshed home screen now places AI-powered Energy Score insights and personalized wellness recommendations front and center, making it easier for users to understand how different aspects of their lifestyle affect overall health.

Samsung has also enhanced several existing health tools. The Antioxidant Index now includes trend charts and historical tracking, helping users visualize how nutrition choices affect their health over time. Meanwhile, the AGEs Index has been upgraded to automatically collect overnight measurements and build long-term health trends in the background.

Expanding beyond personal biometrics, Samsung is introducing a new Hearing Health feature that works across the Galaxy ecosystem. Using data collected through Galaxy Watch devices, the feature monitors environmental noise exposure and provides insights to help users protect their hearing in noisy surroundings.

Samsung says the true strength of these new features comes from the company’s connected Galaxy ecosystem, allowing health data and AI-powered insights to flow seamlessly between Galaxy Watches, smartphones, and other connected devices.

The new Samsung Health update will begin rolling out from 8th June 2026, offering users an early look at the AI-powered health experiences that will be fully integrated into Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Watch devices.
