With the Samsung Unpacked event at the MWC 2014 inching closer, everyone was expecting a gala event to launch the Galaxy S5, but seems like that’s not going to happen this time. Budget cut, maybe?

According to well-placed sources, the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S5 would be launched at a low-key event at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, without all the fanfare that was seen at the Galaxy S4 launch. Worse news is that, all the talked about features like the Quad HD display, iris scanner would not make it on to the device.

Last year Samsung had reportedly spent a huge amount for the launch and promotion of the Galaxy S4, but the sales were disappointing. As such, this year the company seems to be focussing on the corporate segment with its improved business features like the Knox security app. However, Samsung is expected to have a new design for the Galaxy S5 with improved hardware.
