Yesterday, Samsung rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and S8+ in Germany, and, we said that users in other regions should expect the update to arrive on their S8/S8+ soon. Well, just a day after rolling out the Oreo update for S8/S8+ in Germany, Samsung is now rolling out the Oreo update for both these smartphones in India as well.

However, this Android 8.0 Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and S8+ is first rolled out to those who had enrolled in the beta program. Samsung does this as a token of appreciation to the users who helped Samsung beta test the software.

Those who hadn’t enrolled in the beta program will receive the Oreo update on their Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ a day after the beta testers have received the update. The Oreo update that’s currently being rolled out to Galaxy S8 and S8+ weighs 487 MB in size, however, the update that will be rolled out to non-beta users will be significantly larger.

Having said that, this update which upgrades the S8 and S8+ to Android 8.0 Oreo also updates the Samsung Experience to Samsung Experience 9.0.

This update is being rolled out over the air, and, it should take a couple of days to reach all the users. However, you can also check for the update manually by heading over to the Settings > Software update menu.
