With Google entering a new dimension of wearable technology with the Google Glass project, Samsung, which is striving hard not to be left behind in any aspect, seems to be considering its own glasses.

According to a new patent granted by the Korean Patent Office to Samsung, the company will be working on some sort of glasses wearable. While the patent mentions sports glasses, the design looks similar to the smart glass patent obtained by Microsoft recently. However the patent is yet to be approved by the USPTO, lest the company plans on keeping the device localised to Korea.

Interestingly, the sketch of the Samsung glasses obtained from the patent filing show marked similarities with the Google Glass, including translucent frames, control buttons on the side, and what appears to be a display and camera coming from that. The glasses also come equipped with an inbuilt pair of earphones.
