Sony Xperia Z1 Compact officially launched in India for Rs.36,990
The best ‘mini’ smartphone till date, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has just been officially launched in India for a price of Rs. 36,990. The device was listed on the official website just a while ago and now Sony has made it official. The device was unveiled at CES and it is now making its way to Indian shores.
The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact features a 4.3-inch TRILUMINOS HD (1280×720) display with Sony’s proprietary X-Reality tech. Other than the display, the internals of the device are akin to the flagship, Xperia Z1. It comes with the same 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM. There’s 16GB of on-board storage along with microSD expansion upto 64GB.
Sony claims that the device comes with the “world’s best camera in a compact smartphone” and well, we agree, atleast on paper we do. The Xperia Z1 Compact comes with the same 20.7MP camera with LED flash as the Xperia Z1. The camera is the 1/2.3-type CMOS image sensor Exmor RS for mobile along with Sony’s G Lens and intelligent BIONZ™ for mobile image processing engine.
The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with Sony’s customizations. A 2300 mAh battery makes sure you don’t run out of juice. The device has its connectivity well covered and comes with the IP certifications meaning it will be water and dust proof.
Along with the Xperia Z1 Compact, Sony has also launched a couple of accessories namely the QX100 camera lens and SmartWatch 2 which can be used as an accompanying wearable device with the smartphone.
The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will hit the stores across in India starting February 24 and is priced at Rs. 36,990. If anyone of you have been waiting for a premium compact smartphone then the Xperia Z1 Compact is your best bet. LG recently launched its LG G2 mini which honestly does not give any competition to the Xperia Z1 Compact which is a far superior device.
The device is priced as a flagship device and the specs are of a flagship device but we aren’t really sure of how well the device will do in India considering, ‘Bigger is Better’ here. There are surely people who have wanted a compact smartphone with high end specs and it’ll be interesting to see if the Xperia Z1 Compact gains some good traction in India. So, anyone planning to buy a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact here?
