Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleVodafone Idea (Vi) has launched Vi Intelligence, a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence adoption across its internal operations, consumer services, and enterprise businesses. The initiative will focus on developing and deploying AI-powered solutions for organizations across multiple industries.

Vi Intelligence

At the centre of the initiative is the Vi Intelligence Lab, established in collaboration with PwC India. The lab will serve as an innovation hub for developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-grade AI solutions by combining Vi’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure with PwC India’s business transformation and consulting capabilities.

As part of the collaboration, PwC India will establish a dedicated Centre of Excellence (CoE) team co-located with Vi in Mumbai to support the lab’s operations.

The facility will also connect international AI companies, emerging startups, academic institutions, research ecosystems, and enterprise customers to develop solutions addressing real-world business challenges.

Three Key Pillars Of Vi Intelligence

The Vi Intelligence Lab will focus on three primary areas of AI development:

  • Agentic AI: The initiative will develop autonomous AI systems capable of handling complex, multi-step workflows with minimal human intervention. These solutions are intended to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assistive AI: This pillar will focus on AI tools that support employees and businesses by improving productivity, decision-making, and everyday enterprise operations.
  • Sovereign and Responsible AI: Vi will also focus on developing AI solutions that address data localization, ethical standards, security requirements, and regulatory compliance.

All solutions developed through the lab will be evaluated under GRACIE, Vi’s proprietary Responsible AI framework. The framework is designed to ensure ethical data usage, protect intellectual property, and maintain security and regulatory compliance throughout the AI development and deployment lifecycle.

Key Programmes Under Vi Intelligence

Vi plans to execute the initiative through several programmes covering AI development, innovation, enterprise deployment, and workforce training.

  • Incubation Projects: Developing and testing targeted AI solutions to address industry-specific operational challenges.
  • Proprietary Technology Development: Building custom AI models and technical assets to support enterprise modernization.
  • Vi AI Open Hackathons and Challenges: Engaging global AI startups, developers, and innovation communities to discover new ideas and solutions.
  • Transformation AI Factory: Establishing a structured pipeline to move validated AI concepts from pilot projects to large-scale enterprise deployment.
  • Workforce Capability Building: Providing training and skill development programmes to prepare enterprise employees for wider AI adoption.

Commenting on the launch, Jagbir Singh, CTO, Vi, said, “Telecom has long played a critical role in connecting people, businesses and devices, but the future belongs to intelligence. Through Vi Intelligence Lab, we are bringing together global AI expertise, strategic partnerships and our digital infrastructure to help unlock the full potential of AI. From enhancing customer engagement and service experiences to reimagining cross functional processes, Vi Intelligence Lab will support organisations in adopting AI in practical and scalable ways. Vi Intelligence Lab is our commitment to building future ready capabilities that will help drive innovation across the enterprise ecosystem.”

Vinish Bawa, Partner and Leader, TMT, PwC India, said, “We are on the verge of entering an era where AI will not just transform how organisations operate but will also fundamentally redefine how they innovate, compete, and create value for their stakeholders. As enterprises move towards intelligent and autonomous processes, they will need trusted ecosystems that can accelerate innovation along with responsible AI adoption. Through Vi Intelligence Lab, PwC India will bring its deep experience in agentic transformation to help organisations translate AI potential into real-world capabilities that enterprises of tomorrow will need to survive and thrive.”

Through Vi Intelligence, the company aims to help businesses move beyond conventional rule-based automation towards more adaptive and intelligent processes.

By combining telecom-grade network infrastructure, AI engineering, and specialized consulting capabilities, Vi intends to support organizations in identifying practical AI use cases and implementing them at scale.

The launch also highlights Vi’s broader strategy to expand its enterprise technology offerings beyond traditional telecommunications services, with artificial intelligence emerging as a key area of focus.
