Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleVodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the completion of its mobile network deployment across the entire Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 corridor, bringing seamless voice and data connectivity to commuters traveling across one of the city’s most important metro routes.
The latest rollout phase extends Vi’s network coverage across the remaining underground section of the line, connecting users all the way to the southern terminal station at Cuffe Parade. With this expansion, Vi’s services are now operational across both underground and elevated sections of the metro corridor.
The final deployment phase covers 11 additional stations, including Science Centre, Mahalaxmi, Jagannath Shankar Sheth, Grant Road, Girgaon, Kalbadevi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate, Vidhan Bhavan, and Cuffe Parade.
This follows Vi’s initial rollout completed last week, which brought connectivity to a 16-station stretch between Aarey JVLR and Acharya Atre Chowk. With both phases now complete, passengers can access uninterrupted voice calling, mobile internet services, messaging applications, digital payments, and online services throughout the entire route.
Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 represents one of the city’s most significant transportation infrastructure projects, connecting major business districts, commercial centers, transit hubs, and residential zones through a predominantly underground network. Reliable mobile connectivity has become increasingly important for daily commuters who depend on smartphones for navigation, communication, work, and digital transactions while traveling.
By completing the telecom infrastructure deployment across the corridor, Vi aims to provide consistent network performance throughout the metro journey, including underground sections that traditionally pose challenges for mobile network coverage.
The rollout further strengthens Vi’s urban connectivity infrastructure in Mumbai as the operator continues to expand network availability across key transportation corridors and high-density commuter locations.
Regarding this, an official Vi spokesperson said, “Vi has successfully extended its network connectivity across the remaining underground stretch of Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3, ensuring seamless network coverage all the way till Cuffe Parade. Following its rollout covering 16 stations from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk last week, Vi’s mobile network services are now live across the entire route.”
