Design, Display & Build Quality
Moving to its design, the vivo S2 FE takes a practical approach by combining a distinctive rear design with a large display and a battery-focused build. The smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a 10,000 mAh battery, and a rear panel made from a plastic composite sheet. Despite its large battery capacity, the device measures just 8.59 mm thick in the Stellar Green and Titan Black variants, while the Zen White version measures 8.69 mm. The phone weighs 224 grams in Stellar Green and Titan Black, increasing slightly to 225 grams for Zen White.

You get three colors to choose from: Stellar Green, Zen White, and Titan Black. We got the Zen White variant, as you can see in the images. It features a glittery, pearl-like finish that catches the light beautifully, creating flowing reflections across the rear panel. vivo uses a Satin Dual-Plating Process to add depth and texture, with soft iridescence reminiscent of mother-of-pearl seen through thin mist. The finish softens harsh reflections while giving the phone a distinctive appearance that looks different as the angle of light changes.
On the other hand, the Stellar Green variant draws inspiration from raw emerald, with a deep, understated finish designed to evoke the natural beauty of an unpolished gemstone. Meanwhile, Titan Black features a cool-toned metallic sheen rising from a deep base, creating a more subtle and sophisticated look. Each color has its own character, but the Zen White variant stands out for its shimmering texture and changing pearlescent reflections.
One of the highlights of the vivo S2 FE’s design is its Floating Crystal camera module. The camera lenses appear to float beneath a crystal-clear layer, complemented by a precision-machined metal ring around the module. This gives the rear panel a distinctive appearance without relying on an overly complicated camera layout. However, the rear panel does not offer the same material feel as a glass back.
For durability, the S2 FE carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance as well as military-grade drop resistance, including testing against the MIL-STD-810H 516.8 standard, with a reported drop test from 1.22 meters onto a steel plate. The company also mentions testing under different environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, rain, sand and dust, and shock.
Turning to the front, the vivo S2 FE features a 6.83-inch (17.35 cm) AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2,800 x 1,260 pixels, 449 PPI pixel density) and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The high resolution helps deliver sharp text, detailed images, and clear visuals when reading articles, browsing social media, or streaming videos. The display also delivers a vibrant multimedia experience, with support for HDR10+, a P3 wide color gamut, and up to 2,000 nits of High Brightness Mode (HBM) brightness.
The AMOLED panel’s deep blacks and strong contrast should be particularly beneficial when watching videos or viewing content with darker scenes. vivo also highlights the screen’s 1.35 mm ultra-slim bezels and 94.47% screen-to-body ratio, helping the front look more immersive while keeping the display area prominent. You also get display certifications and eye-comfort features. The S2 FE comes with SGS Five-Star Sunlight-Readable Display Certification, SGS Low Blue Light certification, and SGS Low Flicker certification. These features are intended to improve readability in bright conditions and support a more comfortable viewing experience during prolonged use.
The multimedia experience is further supported by dual stereo speakers with vivo’s VEQ Algorithm. The stereo setup offers fairly loud and clear audio while it provides a more immersive sound experience when watching videos, listening to music, or playing games. Combined with the large AMOLED screen, this makes entertainment one of the key areas of focus for the vivo S2 FE. For biometrics, the vivo S2 FE includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, which works instantly for unlocking the phone.
The sides are as usual: the power button and volume rocker on the right side; the bottom houses the USB Type-C port, primary speaker, microphone, and dual nano SIM tray, while the top adds another speaker at the earpiece for stereo and one more microphone.
Software, User Interface, & Features
Like the S2, the vivo S2 FE also runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The OriginOS brings a modern interface with an emphasis on personalization, AI-powered tools, multitasking, and everyday convenience. Compared to the older Funtouch OS experience found on previous vivo smartphones, OriginOS introduces a different visual identity with redesigned interface elements, interactive features, and a broader set of productivity tools. On the S2 FE, the software experience is complemented by the phone’s large AMOLED display and focus on everyday usability.
One important thing to note is that vivo has already introduced OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 in India with the vivo V80. The S2 FE, however, still runs OriginOS 6 at the time of writing. An upgrade to OriginOS 7 may arrive through a future OTA update, but for now, we have no information on a confirmed rollout timeline. The current Android security patch is dated 1st September 2026, based on the latest update we received.
Visually, OriginOS 6 focuses on a contemporary interface with customizable home screens, widgets, wallpapers, themes, and system elements. If you are one of those who want to personalize the look and feel of the phone according to your preferences, you have plenty of options. Features such as Dark Mode and display color settings help tailor the experience for different environments.
The interface also includes Origin Island, an interactive area that presents supported ongoing activities and notifications in a compact format, allowing you to check relevant information without constantly switching between applications.
Privacy is another key part of the software experience. The Private Space feature gives you a dedicated area for keeping selected apps and your personal content separate from the regular phone interface. This can be useful for those who want an additional layer of privacy for sensitive files or applications. You also get the Shake and Share feature, which helps share content between compatible devices more conveniently.
You get a number of pre-installed apps along with 12 other apps at the time of initial setup, which can be skipped. All these apps can be removed if not required.
AI is a major focus of OriginOS 6, and the vivo S2 FE includes several AI-powered tools aimed at both productivity and everyday tasks. The available features include:
- Google Gemini Integration
- AI Creation
- AI Captions
- AI Erase
- Drag & Go
- vivo Office Kit
- AI SuperLink
Google Gemini provides access to Google’s AI assistant for supported tasks such as answering questions, helping with writing, summarizing information, and assisting with everyday queries. Its available capabilities depend on the installed Google app, account settings, region, and internet connectivity.
The AI Creation tools are designed to help you summarize, rewrite, expand, translate, and organize text. These capabilities can be useful when working with messages, notes, or other written content. vivo notes that certain AI functions require an internet connection and a vivo account, so availability may vary depending on the feature and usage conditions.
Another useful addition is AI Captions, which supports real-time transcription and translation for supported meetings, calls, and video content. This can help you follow spoken conversations or media when audio is difficult to understand. As with other AI features, supported languages, content types, and network requirements may affect the experience.
For photo editing, the vivo S2 FE includes AI Erase, which allows you to remove unwanted objects or elements from images. This can be handy when editing travel photographs, portraits, or everyday pictures containing distracting objects in the background. The result depends on the image, the selected area, and the complexity of the surrounding details.
vivo has also included Drag & Go, which is intended to simplify moving supported content between compatible applications. For those who work across their phone and computer, vivo Office Kit offers features such as computer file access, screen mirroring, device handoff, and a shared clipboard. These tools can make it easier to move between devices when handling documents or other supported content.
Connectivity receives attention through AI SuperLink, which is designed to improve wireless signal performance in challenging environments. vivo claims a 29% improvement in low-frequency signal strength under its specified conditions. This could be useful in locations where maintaining a stable connection is difficult, although real-world performance depends on network coverage, surroundings, and other factors.
Hardware, Performance, & Gaming
Moving to the internals, the vivo S2 FE is powered by the new 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300e SoC, an octa-core platform designed to balance everyday performance and power efficiency. The SoC combines four performance cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz with four efficiency cores running at up to 2.0 GHz. It is paired with the ARM Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, which handles graphics processing for gaming and other visually demanding tasks.
The SoC is paired with 6 GB or 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB UFS 3.1 storage. You also get Extended RAM support, with up to 6 GB on the 6 GB RAM variant and up to 8 GB on the 8 GB RAM variant through software optimization. Storage expansion via a microSD card is not supported, so the built-in 128 GB storage is what you have for your apps, photos, videos, games, and other files.
MediaTek Dimensity 7300e Platform
The MediaTek Dimensity 7300e features an octa-core CPU configuration consisting of:
- 4 performance cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz
- 4 efficiency cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz
- 6 nm manufacturing process
- ARM Mali-G610 MC2 GPU
- Up to 900,000 AnTuTu benchmark score
The vivo S2 FE runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, and the combination of its SoC, memory, storage, and software is intended to handle everyday smartphone tasks; for your daily routine, that includes browsing websites, scrolling through social media, messaging, watching videos, using navigation apps, and switching between applications.

For performance, it is likely going to score as much as 900,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, giving you a reference for its performance positioning. We tested the device with Geekbench 7 (CPU + GPU) and CPDT Storage benchmarks, and the results are attached below. You are likely going to receive mainstream performance for all your daily stuff you do on the phone.
The Dimensity 7300e sits directly above budget-oriented chips like the Dimensity 7050, Dimensity 6300/6400, and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2/Gen 4. However, compared to the standard Dimensity 7300, the 7300e uses an older manufacturing process (4nm vs 6nm) and a slightly less capable GPU (Mali-G615 MC2 vs Mali-G610 MC2), while also offering lower memory bandwidth and more limited video recording capabilities (1080p@60fps).
For everyday activities, the shared CPU core configuration should provide a broadly similar experience, but the differences in graphics hardware may become more noticeable in demanding games. Note that the S2 FE uses LPDDR4X RAM rather than the newer LPDDR5 standard, so while everyday performance should remain smooth, LPDDR5 can offer higher memory bandwidth and better efficiency, which can be beneficial for demanding multitasking and gaming.
One of the phone’s hardware highlights is its 3,800 mm² vapor chamber cooling system. This cooling solution is designed to help dissipate heat generated by the SoC during demanding tasks. It is particularly relevant when you’re gaming, recording videos, or using several resource-intensive applications over an extended period.
Gaming Performance
The vivo S2 FE is not positioned as a dedicated gaming smartphone, but its Dimensity 7300e, Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, vapor chamber cooling system, 120 Hz AMOLED display, and dual stereo speakers provide the hardware foundations for mobile gaming. The experience you get will depend on the game, its graphics settings, and whether it supports higher frame rates on this particular device.
Gaming highlights include:
- MediaTek Dimensity 7300e SoC
- Octa-core CPU with clock speeds of up to 2.5 GHz
- ARM Mali-G610 MC2 GPU
- 3,800 mm² vapor chamber cooling system
- 120 Hz AMOLED display
- Dual stereo speakers with the VEQ Algorithm
- 10,000 mAh battery
- AI SuperLink connectivity feature
The 120 Hz display is useful for supported games and helps make interface animations and compatible gameplay appear smoother. The dual stereo speakers with vivo’s VEQ Algorithm also enhance the gaming experience on the vivo S2 FE, particularly in titles where directional audio helps you follow in-game action. Footsteps, gunfire, and other sound effects can benefit from stereo separation compared with a typical single-speaker setup.
The Dimensity 7300e combined with the Mali-G610 MC2 provides the processing and graphics capabilities for popular games such as BGMI, Call of Duty: Mobile, Asphalt 9, and Free Fire MAX, although the graphics settings and frame rates you can use will vary by game. Supported games should run at higher frame rates, although the maximum frame rate depends on the game’s settings, software support, and hardware performance. Expect demanding titles to run smoothly in medium to high graphics settings. The device remains comfortable during normal workloads and moderate gaming. The vivo S2 FE handles thermal management and heat emissions efficiently.

Connectivity is another area vivo highlights through AI SuperLink, which is designed to improve low-frequency signal strength by up to 29%. This may help in certain challenging signal environments, although your actual network experience will depend on carrier coverage, surroundings, and network congestion.
The 10,000 mAh battery also plays a significant role in the overall hardware package. The 10,000 mAh battery is one of the vivo S2 FE’s most distinctive gaming advantages on paper. Its large capacity gives you more room for extended gameplay and other demanding activities between charges. The phone also supports reverse charging over USB Type-C at 6W, which can be useful for compatible accessories or other devices in a pinch.
Cameras
The vivo S2 FE features a dual rear camera setup led by a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera, accompanied by a 2 MP secondary camera. For selfies, you get a 32 MP front camera, making the phone suitable for everyday photography, portraits, and social media content. vivo has also included AI Erase, which lets you remove unwanted objects from photos without needing a separate editing app. While the camera setup looks straightforward on paper, the main and selfie cameras give you a solid starting point for capturing everyday moments.
Camera Hardware Overview
- Main Camera: 50 MP Sony IMX852 sensor, f/1.8 aperture
- Secondary Camera: 2 MP camera, f/2.4 aperture
- Front Camera: 32 MP selfie camera, f/2.0 aperture
- Rear Camera Features: LED flash and AI Erase support
At the heart of the setup is the 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera (also seen on the sibling S2). The sensor is designed to capture detailed photos, while the f/1.8 aperture helps bring light into the camera. This is the camera you’ll rely on most, whether you’re taking pictures outdoors, capturing everyday scenes, or photographing something for social media. One drawback worth noting is that, unlike the vivo S2, which features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), the vivo S2 FE camera doesn’t come with OIS, so you’ll have to rely on its image processing and shooting technique to help minimize blur caused by camera shake.
The 2 MP secondary camera with an f/2.4 aperture accompanies the main sensor. It adds a second camera to the rear setup, although the 50 MP main camera remains the primary highlight for capturing detailed images. This is a fairly simple camera arrangement rather than a versatile multi-camera system with dedicated ultrawide or telephoto cameras, so you shouldn’t expect the flexibility offered by those additional lenses.
For selfies, the vivo S2 FE packs a 32 MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The selfie sensor is useful if you regularly take selfies, make video calls, or create content for Instagram and other social platforms. It gives you a dedicated front-facing camera for portraits and everyday shots, making it an important part of the overall camera package.

AI Erase & Camera Features
One of the more useful additions is AI Erase, which lets you remove unwanted objects or elements from a photograph. For example, if a distracting object appears in the background of a travel photo, you can select it and let the AI tool attempt to clean up the image. This is convenient when you want to make quick edits before sharing photos on social media, without opening a separate editing application.
AI Erase is particularly handy for everyday photography, where a small distraction can take attention away from the main subject. You can use it to tidy up a composition or remove an unwanted element after taking the picture. It adds a practical editing option to the camera experience rather than relying on additional camera hardware.
The vivo S2 FE comes with a good collection of camera modes, giving you plenty of flexibility for everyday photography, portraits, videos, and creative shots. The camera interface offers dedicated options for different shooting scenarios, so you can quickly switch between modes depending on what you’re capturing.
Camera Modes:
- Rear Camera: Photo, Portrait, Night, Video, Dual View, High Resolution, Panorama (Pano), Ultra HD Document, Slow Motion (Slo-mo), Time-Lapse, Pro, Food, and Snapshot.
- Front Camera: Night, Portrait, Photo, Video, and Dual View.
One particularly useful feature is Dual View Video, which lets you record simultaneously using the front and rear cameras. This comes in handy when you’re creating travel vlogs, reaction videos, or social media content where you want to capture yourself and your surroundings together. However, Dual View is available only on the 8 GB RAM variant of the vivo S2 FE. You also get a dedicated High Resolution mode to make the most of the 50 MP Sony main camera, while Night, Portrait, Pro, and Food modes give you more control over different photography scenarios.
Video recording is one area where the vivo S2 FE feels a little underwhelming, especially when compared with its sibling, the vivo S2. The S2 FE supports 1080p recording at 30 FPS and 60 FPS with the rear camera, while the front camera is limited to 1080p at 30 FPS. I would expect 1080p video recording at 60 FPS for the front as well. In comparison, the vivo S2 supports 4K at 30 FPS for both the front and rear cameras, giving it a clear advantage for vloggers and content creators who want hi-res footage and greater flexibility when editing videos. As a result, the S2 FE’s video recording capabilities feel fairly average for a phone in this price segment.
Overall, the vivo S2 FE’s camera setup is aimed at straightforward everyday photography. The 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera handles the primary shooting duties, while the 32 MP front camera gives you a high-resolution option for selfies and front-facing content. AI Erase adds flexibility when you want to edit photos directly on the phone, and the rear LED flash provides additional lighting when needed. For the camera review, the most interesting areas to explore are daylight detail, color reproduction, portrait photography, low-light shots, selfies, and video recording.
We’ve shared camera samples to give you a closer look at the results and help you judge the image quality for yourself.
vivo S2 FE Camera Samples
Battery Runtime & Charging
Battery life is one of the biggest highlights of the vivo S2 FE, thanks to its massive 10,000 mAh battery. Despite packing such a high capacity, the smartphone maintains a thickness of 8.59 mm in Stellar Green and Titan Black, while the Zen White variant measures slightly more, 8.69 mm. vivo uses its 4th-Gen Silicon Anode Technology to fit a high-capacity battery into a relatively slim body, making the S2 FE an interesting option if you want extended battery life without carrying a bulky phone.
The major highlight is the phone’s focus on long-lasting battery performance. vivo claims the device sets a Guinness World Record. To demonstrate its endurance, the vivo S2 FE secured a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Electronic Product Testing Livestream,” achieving a continuous runtime of 32h 37m (32 hours and 37 minutes)*. With a 10,000 mAh capacity, the S2 FE is designed to handle extended periods of streaming, browsing, messaging, navigation, and other daily tasks with fewer charging interruptions.
For endurance, the vivo S2 FE can deliver as much as 30 hours of video playback, 30 hours of live streaming, 68 hours of voice calls, and 15.8 hours of gaming on a single charge. These are specific usage scenarios by vivo, so for a mix of everyday activities, it should make multi-day use possible. Expect to get up to 2 days of battery life for a 10,000 mAh capacity, with a remaining percentage to use for the third day.
You get a bunch of battery features from Power saving management, as well as battery optimizations, customizations, and more.

The company claims the battery can retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,400 full charge cycles, which it estimates to be around 7 years based on its simulated usage conditions. The S2 FE also includes Battery Life Extender, which helps preserve enough reserve power for essential functions such as calls when the battery is critically low. The battery is also tested across temperatures ranging from -30°C to 45°C, although these are controlled laboratory results from vivo.
Charging is handled by 44W FlashCharge, and a compatible charger is included in the retail box. While 44W charging is reasonable, replenishing a battery this large will naturally take longer than charging a phone with a smaller battery at the same wattage. A higher charging speed would have been welcome, especially when you need to top up quickly before heading out. I would certainly expect 66W or closer to 80W FlashCharge fast charging support for this segment. The vivo S2 FE also supports 6W reverse wired charging through its USB Type-C port, allowing you to charge compatible accessories or other low-wattage devices when needed.

Verdict – vivo S2 FE Review
The vivo S2 FE brings a different focus to the company’s S-series lineup in India, prioritizing exceptional battery capacity, an immersive display, stylish design, durability, and a feature-rich software experience. The smartphone is built around one major highlight: its massive 10,000 mAh battery. Despite packing a mammoth battery, the smartphone measures just 8.59 mm. The Floating Crystal camera module and distinctive rear finishes give it a recognizable appearance, with Zen White standing out for its pearlescent reflections. You get IP68 + IP69 ratings, along with military-grade drop resistance, adding durability to a phone that would otherwise be defined primarily by its large battery.
For the display, the 6.83-inch 1.5K 120 Hz AMOLED panel delivers a combination of sharp visuals, vibrant colors, and smooth scrolling. The screen offers as much as 2,000 nits HBM brightness, HDR10+ support, and SGS display certifications; it is well-equipped for watching videos, browsing social media, and reading content. The dual stereo speakers with vivo’s VEQ Algorithm further enhance the multimedia experience, making the S2 FE a compelling choice for entertainment.
Battery life is where the vivo S2 FE truly distinguishes itself and is certainly among the best in its segment. Its 10,000 mAh battery, backed by 4th-Gen Silicon Anode Technology, is designed for extended use. The phone is also backed by 6W reverse charging and 44W FlashCharge, which feels modest for a battery of this size. Performance is handled by the Dimensity 7300e, which is aimed at everyday multitasking, content consumption, and mobile gaming. However, the S2 FE is better viewed as an everyday all-rounder than a performance-focused flagship alternative, particularly if you prioritize advanced gaming capabilities at this price range.
The camera system is more straightforward. The 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera is accompanied by a 2 MP secondary camera, while the 32 MP front camera caters to selfies, video calls, and social media content. AI Erase adds a useful photo-editing feature, and the range of camera modes offers flexibility for everyday shooting. OriginOS 6 brings features like Origin Island, Private Space, Shake and Share, Google Gemini integration, AI Creation, AI Captions, AI Erase, Drag & Go, vivo Office Kit, and AI SuperLink. These additions provide a useful mix of personalization, productivity, connectivity, and AI-powered tools.
