Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleWaze has announced a major update introducing a dedicated Motorcycle mode, personalized navigation, Gemini-powered destination search, expanded Conversational Reporting, and a new Less chatty voice guidance option. The update aims to deliver more personalized routing, improved voice interactions, and smarter navigation across different types of journeys.

Waze Update July 2026

Dedicated Motorcycle Mode

One of the biggest additions is a dedicated Motorcycle mode, which uses AI to generate routes specifically designed for motorcycle riders.

Unlike standard navigation, Motorcycle mode takes into account motorcycle-specific shortcuts, road restrictions, and riding conditions to calculate more accurate routes and estimated arrival times.

According to Waze, the feature also provides hazard alerts for potholes, speed bumps, raised crosswalks, shoulder endings, and narrow bridges, while continuing to leverage real-time traffic information and community-generated map updates.

Personalized Navigation

Waze is also making route recommendations more personal by learning from a user’s previous trips and driving preferences.

For example, users who typically prefer highways over local roads may see highway routes suggested first, while those who frequently choose alternate roads will receive recommendations better suited to their driving habits. Users can still choose different routes or disable personalized navigation through the app’s settings.

Less Chatty Voice Guidance

The update introduces a new Less chatty mode designed for users who prefer fewer voice instructions during navigation.

The feature reduces the number of spoken prompts while continuing to provide important guidance for turns, lane changes, and road hazards, resulting in a quieter navigation experience without sacrificing essential information.

Gemini-Powered Search & Conversational Reporting

Waze has also expanded its Gemini-powered AI capabilities.

Conversational Reporting now supports natural language reports for both traffic incidents and map updates. In addition to reporting slow traffic, users can now report road closures, outdated addresses, and other map corrections using everyday language. These submissions are reviewed by local map editors before being published.

The update also introduces Gemini-powered destination search, allowing users to search using natural voice queries such as:

  • Open coffee shops
  • Parking near a destination
  • Nearby fuel stations with the lowest prices

Waze then presents relevant results that users can browse and select using voice commands.
