Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleBharti Airtel has completed a comprehensive network enhancement program across Odisha ahead of the annual Puri Rath Yatra, strengthening its infrastructure to support the expected surge in voice and data traffic during one of India’s largest religious gatherings. Alongside the network expansion, the company has also introduced new fully unlimited prepaid plans starting at ₹399 for customers in the state. Earlier this month, Airtel expanded network coverage across Pahalgam route for Amarnath Yatra.

As part of the festival preparations, Airtel has upgraded its network infrastructure across Puri, including major road and railway corridors leading into the city. The company said the enhancements are designed to maintain reliable voice connectivity and high-speed mobile data services during periods of heavy crowd movement throughout the Rath Yatra.
The upgraded infrastructure includes 5G-enabled network enhancements, allowing Airtel to better handle increased network demand from pilgrims, tourists, local residents, and public authorities during the festival.
Beyond Puri, Airtel has also significantly expanded its network footprint across Odisha over the past year. According to the company, it has deployed more than 1,500 new 5G sites across all 30 districts of the state, extending connectivity to urban areas, emerging towns, and rural communities. Airtel said the upgraded network currently serves over 11 million customers across Odisha.
To complement the improved network infrastructure, Airtel Odisha has also introduced new fully unlimited prepaid plans starting at ₹399. The new recharge packs offer unlimited 4G and 5G data, along with unlimited voice calling for eligible prepaid smartphone users, eliminating daily data usage limits for streaming, browsing, video calls, and other online activities.
According to Airtel, the combined network upgrades and new prepaid offerings are aimed at improving the overall customer experience while ensuring uninterrupted connectivity during the high-traffic Puri Rath Yatra period and supporting growing demand for 5G services across Odisha.
Abhirup Chatterjee, COO – Bharti Airtel, said, “Puri Rath Yatra is one of Odisha’s most revered and largest public gatherings, attracting millions of devotees from across the country and abroad. Ensuring uninterrupted connectivity during this period is our utmost priority.
We have completed extensive network enhancements across Puri and key travel corridors. These investments reaffirm Airtel’s commitment in delivering a reliable, resilient and superior network experience for every customer throughout the celebrations.”
