Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory launched for Rs. 6999

Just days after the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime was spotted online, the company has now officially launched the handset in the country.


Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, which is the company’s first smartphone under the ‘Made in India’ policy, manufactured in Andhra Pradesh at the Foxconn facility. The device has the same 4.7 inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor with extra 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime has an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, Omnivision sensor and LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera. The device runs on the Android KitKat version with a 2200 mAh battery. The handset is priced at Rs. 6999 and is available in white and dark grey colour options.
