While Karbonn just launched the cheapest Android smartphone in India, XOLO is apparently planning on launching the lightest smartphone.

XOLO Q1100 33

According to sources, Indian-based XOLO may soon launch the world’s lightest phone. The handset is said to weigh well under 100 gram. Surprisingly, the phone would be powered by the Windows Phone platform thus also making it the company’s first Windows Phone smartphone. Sources also claim that the device would be priced in the Rs. 12000 range.

XOLO had recently launched its first Windows tablet – the Xolo Win, seems to have taken a liking to the upcoming platform. While there is no official confirmation about the rumours, sources in the know suggest that the device would flaunt a 4.7 inch display and a quad core Snapdragon 200 processor. Will the fact that the company chose Windows Phone instead of Android for its lightest phone hinder the success? Only time will tell.
