Last month, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Spain, we saw quite a few smartphones that were announced with Android Oreo (Go Edition). One of them was the Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition). Alongside announcing tablets with Android 8.1 Oreo, Alcatel had also announced this Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone at MWC. And now, this smartphone has been announced in India as well.
As the Alcatel 1X runs Android Oreo (Go Edition), it should already be clear to you that this is an entry-level smartphone. The Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) is powered by MediaTek’s MT6580 quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.3 GHz and is paired with 1 GB RAM.
The smartphone features an 8 MP camera on the back along with a 5 MP camera on the front. In terms of storage, you get 16 GB of space on-board, but you can easily expand the storage up to 128 GB via microSD card.
Having said that, one of the biggest highlight of the Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) is its display. The smartphone sports a 5.3-inch IPS display that as an aspect ratio of 18:9. This is something we are seeing on smartphones across all price range. However, the resolution of the screen is set to 960 x 480 pixels.
While Alcatel has announced this smartphone in India, it hasn’t revealed its price and the date of availability. But we will get those details soon.
