We were quite happy when Google brought about their KitKat -Nexus contest to India in part of its Android 4.4 KitKat promotion but it seems the Indian winners of the contest are not being the treated the same way as the other parts of the world.
The rest of the world is getting the new Nexus 7 2013 model while the winners in India are receiving the older 2012 Nexus 7 model. Its quite weird considering the company we are talking about here is Google.
The winners of the contest in other parts of the world received a new Nexus 7 2013 tablet in a matter of weeks time but in India the winners are receiving the older model and that too after much wait. All the sources in India point out that Google had promised the Nexus 7 2013 to winners in India and even the picture of the device on KitKat was of the new Nexus 7 model.
KitKat India have responded with a petty excuse on Twitter saying that, “We hear you’re unhappy. Winners got the Nexus7 tabs available in India in Sept (contest date). The new version launched only in Nov.”
We hope KitKat India and Google fix up the things they have really screwed rather than making such petty excuses and treating the Indian winners in such a bad way.
