After announcing its plans for the network transformation program called Project Leap, Airtel has now revealed that it has started implementing the project.
Airtel has announced that it has commenced the implementation of the network transformation program in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Circle. The company has allocated a budget of Rs. 60000 crores over the next three years. The initiative would help the company expand its mobile broadband coverage to all towns and over 250,000 villages by March 2016.
Speaking about the initiative, Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Bharti Airtel Ltd, said, “We see Project Leap as a transformation program that will significantly improve the quality of both voice and data service across the length and breadth of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Circle. The investment in this region would largely be towards upgrading and modernizing its network, expanding the mobile broadband network to rural areas and laying optical fibre both locally and internationally. With this, we look forward to delivering the best experience for our customers now and for years to come.”
