Alcatel, a French smartphone brand that’s licensed to China’s TCL, unveiled the Alcatel POP4 10 4G tablet at CES 2018 last month in Las Vegas, Nevada. And, at a time when tablet sales are going southwards in all the markets, Alcatel has brought this POP4 10 4G tablet in India.
The Alcatel POP4 10 4G tablet has been launched in India. As the name suggests, the POP4 10 4G tablet sports a 10.1-inch fully laminated display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC which is laced with 2 GB RAM. Well, this is the same chip that’s found on smartphones sold in the sub-₹10,000 price segment.
Having said that, the Alcatel POP4 10 4G runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box which is a downer, however, it does with an 8 MP camera at the back along with a 5 MP camera on the front. Moreover, the tablet also supports voice calling. I know, holding such a big tablet with one hand against your ear for voice calling would look difficult and weird, but it’s there if you want it.
Anyways though, the Alcatel POP4 10 4G tablet has 16 GB of internal storage, and, you can also expand the storage up to 32 GB via microSD card if you want. Lastly, this POP4 10 4G ships with a 5830 mAh battery that keeps the entire package up and running.
Also, as this tablet is aimed at students, it comes loaded with learning apps and NCERT books for all grades in different languages like Hindi, English and Urdu. Moreover, what’s worth noting is that these books can be accessed offline as well, without requiring any active Internet connection.
