Android One handsets start receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update

Looks like Google has started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. As for now, the update is only being rolled-out to the Android One devices, the Cherry Mobile G1 smartphone in Philippines being the first Android One device to receive it.

At this time, it’s not clear what the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update brings with it, but it’s likely that it brings with it some minor bug fixes and performance improvements. The update seems to be in its early stages of roll-out as not many Android One users have received it. As can be seen in the image above, this update also includes Google’s Security Patch.

As of now, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is only available for the Cherry Mobile G1 smartphone in Philippines. Also, according to leakster @LlabTooFeR, Google will be rolling-out the Android 6.1 Marshmallow update at the beginning of next year, which is likely to be a more important update as compared to the 6.0.1 update which is currently being rolled-out to Android One devices.

Has your Android One device received the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update yet?
