KRAFTON India has officially confirmed that the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA – BGMI 4.6 update will be released on September 16, 2026. The update introduces “Midnight Hunters,” a supernatural-themed game mode that will run through November 16, 2026. The mode brings several environmental and gameplay changes to the classic Erangel map while retaining its core layout.
Additionally, the popular underwater-themed “Ocean Odyssey” mode will return to Erangel on September 30 and run alongside Midnight Hunters.
Erangel Map Changes & Environmental Overhauls
While the core Erangel layout remains unchanged, several Points of Interest (POIs) have been redesigned to fit the supernatural theme.
Vampire Takeover POIs: Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry, and Gatka receive specialized visual changes and are connected to a new mission structure.
The Nightkeeper’s Hunter Guild: Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base have been transformed into indoor combat arenas featuring hidden lore, puzzles, and interactive elements placed across tables, bookshelves, and murals.
The updated map also features a hunter training shooting range, interactive clock towers that can stun nearby hostile creatures when targeted, and high-risk Scream Crates that require decryption. Failed decryption triggers a loud audio cue that alerts nearby opponents.
Asymmetric Gameplay & Creature Encounters
Midnight Hunters introduces an asymmetric transformation mechanic that allows surviving players to switch sides during a match. Players adopting the transformation receive a different appearance, specialized abilities, and an alternate playstyle for competing in the final circles.
Players will also encounter new hostile entities and interactive NPCs across the battleground.
Bloodwalkers are ground-based hostile creatures that pursue players on foot, while Nightbats are aerial threats capable of deploying sonic wave attacks.
The Vampire Elder serves as a high-tier boss that can continuously buff linked creatures across the map for as long as it remains undefeated.
Meanwhile, The Nightkeeper is an NPC located at the Hunter Guild who provides lore, upgrade materials, and an optional direct boss-encounter challenge.
New Themed Equipment & Tactical Items
The Midnight Hunters mode also introduces specialized equipment designed around its supernatural gameplay mechanics.
- Hunter Bandage: Provides rapid health regeneration during engagements.
- Silvermoon Chain: A multi-purpose tool that functions as an anti-creature weapon, mobility grapple, and deployable defensive shield.
- Twilight Bat Wings: A mobility item that enables sustained aerial flight across the map.
BGMI 4.6 Update Availability
The BGMI 4.6 update will be available to all players from September 16, 2026. The Midnight Hunters mode will remain available through November 16.
The Ocean Odyssey underwater mode will return on September 30 and run concurrently with Midnight Hunters until November 16.
