A picture has popped up at The Verge which is dubbed as ‘London’ and is said to be the first handset to run on BlackBerry’s newly announced BBX platform.

London
It is said to be headed for a June 2012 release. The ‘London’ may replace the previously rumoured BlackBerry Colt which was previously said to be first BBX running device.

Specs of the London may be as below:

  • 1.5GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor with
  • 1GB of RAM.
  • May come with 16GB of onboard storage
  • An 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 2-megapixel front-facing for video chat

According to Verge the London is thinner than the iPhone 4 and roughly the same size as that of Galaxy S II. If we look at the picture closely it appears that the device is a dummy. It is also said that RIM may launch two low-end devices with next version of Torch which may have a 3.7 inch display and a slide-put keyboard.

With this BGR also confirming via its sources that the BB Colt has been scrapped and the London will be the first BBX running device. More on this may pop up as days pass by. Stay tuned.
