Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleCanon India has officially launched the new Canon EOS R6V full-frame camera along with the RF 20-50mm F4L IS USM lens in India. The launch also marks the debut of Canon’s first-ever professional-grade L-series full-frame lens featuring built-in Power Zoom functionality. The company says the new ecosystem is designed specifically for filmmakers, hybrid creators, wedding cinematographers, regional cinema production, and digital-first content creators. Alongside the launch, Canon also introduced its new creator-focused initiative called #IndiaInMotion, aimed at celebrating cinematic storytelling and creator culture across India.
Canon EOS R6V
The Canon EOS R6V is a video-focused full-frame camera built around the same core imaging system as the EOS R6 Mark III, but redesigned specifically for filmmaking workflows.

- 7K Open Gate RAW and MP4 recording

Canon says the built-in cooling fan enables approximately three times longer 7K Open Gate MP4 recording compared to the EOS R6 Mark III, making it suitable for interviews, live events, and extended shooting sessions.
The camera is also optimized for vertical video creation with native vertical tripod mounting, auto-reorienting UI, and cleaner rig compatibility with reduced body protrusions.
Canon RF 20-50mm F4L IS USM Lens
The Canon RF 20-50mm F4L IS USM becomes Canon’s first full-frame L-series lens with built-in Power Zoom technology. Key highlights include:

Canon says the lens is optimized for wide cinematic establishment shots at 20mm, natural conversational framing, smooth cinematic zoom transitions, and gimbal and handheld workflows.
The built-in Power Zoom system allows creators to use zoom lever or zoom ring, select between 15 customizable zoom speeds, and switch between manual zoom and powered zoom modes. Since the lens does not physically extend while zooming, creators using gimbals or support rigs do not need to rebalance setups during focal length changes.
Stabilization & Mobility
The EOS R6V includes 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization, Digital Movie IS, and Subject Tracking IS support. When paired with the RF 20-50mm F4L IS USM lens, the setup can achieve:
- Up to 7.5 stops stabilization at center
- Up to 7.0 stops stabilization at edges
- Up to 8.0 stops correction with combined Optical IS and In-Body IS
Canon says the lightweight and compact design makes the setup suitable for handheld filmmaking, gimbal work, run-and-gun productions, and travel filmmaking.

Despite the video-centric positioning, the EOS R6V also supports flagship-level still photography features. Key stills features include:
