Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on Google
Google has announced a major upgrade to Chrome’s Autofill experience, bringing support for more complex personal information on Android and iPhone while expanding Google Wallet integration across mobile and desktop platforms. The update is designed to reduce the amount of manual data entry required when filling online forms, allowing users to securely autofill a wider range of personal, travel, and payment information.
Chrome Autofill Now Supports More Personal Information
Chrome’s Autofill feature has long supported saved addresses, passwords, and payment methods. With the latest update, Google is expanding support to additional information types that are commonly required for travel, transportation, and government-related forms.
Users can now autofill:
- Flight details
- Vehicle information
- License plate numbers
- Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN)
Google says the feature is designed to simplify tasks such as travel bookings, vehicle registrations, parking services, and other online forms that traditionally require repetitive manual entry.
Google Wallet Integration Gets Deeper
Alongside the Autofill improvements, Google is strengthening Chrome’s integration with Google Wallet.
Chrome can now automatically fill information stored inside Google Wallet, including:
- Driver’s license details
- Passport information
- Known Traveler Number (KTN)
- Payment information
This allows users to complete forms more quickly while reducing the need to repeatedly enter sensitive information across websites and services.
Save Information Directly to Google Wallet
Google says users who manually enter passport or identification information for the first time may receive prompts to save those details directly to Google Wallet.
Once saved, the information can be securely reused through Chrome Autofill whenever supported websites request it.
The company believes this will make online checkouts, travel bookings, and identity verification processes more convenient across devices.
Privacy and Security Remain a Priority
According to Google, all sensitive personal information remains encrypted and can only be saved or autofilled with user permission.
Users maintain full control over their stored information and can manage it through:
- Google Wallet settings
- Chrome Autofill settings
- Chrome Password Manager settings
Digital IDs and other private passes stored in Google Wallet also remain accessible through dedicated management controls.
Availability
The new Autofill capabilities are rolling out to Chrome users on Android and iPhone (iOS). Meanwhile, the expanded Google Wallet integration is available across mobile devices and desktop Chrome browsers. Google says the rollout will continue gradually as the new features become available to more users worldwide.
